I receive a lot of e-mails requesting additional information on Havana Brown kittens.  Araquipa Cattery may have a pet available or a retired show cat available for a loving companion home.  All Havana Brown kittens are sold on a written contract.  This contract protects you as a buyer and myself as the seller.  All Havana Brown kittens are sold no earlier than 16 weeks of age.  All Havana Brown kittens are weaned from their mother between 5-6 weeks of age.  The practice of "early weaning" is a preventive measure.  This practice has had great results with the kittens being healthier and more socialized with humans.  Prior to any sale, several phone calls will need to take place to answer any questions I may have.  Also, this will give me the opportunity to answer any questions that you may have.

This information is effective as of June 1, 2000.   All Havana Brown kittens are seen by my vet and generally receive the following:

bullet

Three (3) separate FVRCP vaccinations.  (Distemper, Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus).  Administered at age 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks.

bullet

Two (2) separate blood tests of total protein, albumin and globulin to ensure that kitten does not have FIP.  Administered at 8 weeks and 16 weeks.

bullet

Tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV).  Guaranteed negative.  Administered at 16 weeks.

bullet

Rabies vaccination.  They receive the new rabies vaccination called PureVax by Murial which is specifically designed for cats and kittens.  Administered at 16 weeks.

bullet

Health Certificate.  Administered by my vet at time of sale.  The Health Certificate is a USDA requirement for shipment of any kitten on all airlines.

In addition to the above information, all paperwork (medical records, health certificate, and vaccination records) accompanies the kitten when shipped.  Also, you will receive:

bullet

A 5-generation pedigree of the kitten.

bullet

Registration through the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA).  This registration is provided upon presentation of a veterinarian's certificate of neuter/spaying.

Pricing for a Havana Brown usually depends on each individual kitten's bloodlines and type.  However, prices generally starts around $800 plus the buyer is responsible for payment of shipping ($125-$175) and carrier.  Shipping fees vary depending on airline.  Quite a few buyers have flown into San Francisco to pick-up their new kitten.  Shipping your kitten in-cabin costs about $50.

Please e-mail me at HavanaBrown@gmail.com for kitten availability.  You may also call me at 707-452-9825.  Please note, prior to any kitten being sold, we will need to speak several times on the phone.  While a lot of information is available on the web, it does not replace the one-on-one contact required prior to any sale.
